Contaminated land investigations
(Assessments and Remediation)
Contaminated Land Desk Study (Phase I)
Desk study reports can be carried out under current UK guidance. The assessment includes the collection of information from maps, published documents, utility records, anecdotal information, and photographs and includes a site walkover in order to derive a conceptual site model of potentially contaminated land where a plausible pollution linkage between a contaminated source and receptor may exist.
The report may identify a potential risk which may need to be quantified by means of physical contaminated land site investigation (Phase II). Cost and timescale are provided by written estimate.
Contaminated Land Site Investigation (Phase II)
Mining Search UK has expertise in the assessment of soil contamination risk, site investigation and evaluation. Chemical analysis of soil and/or water samples retrieved during site investigation can be assessed using source-pathway-receptor model, in order to determine if any potential contamination is present and recommend the most appropriate measures of remedial action for the proposed development.
Estimates are given in writing.
Contaminated Land Remediation
When a site is determined to be contaminated, we can offer expertise options appraised and the appropriate remediation of the contaminated land for the proposed development. This usually takes the form of a Remediation Strategy followed by Remediation Inspection Reports.
Estimates are given in writing.
